Footprints in the Sand

One night I had a dream# z& o0 h, K: D
I was walking along the beach with my Lord.
- A, H& f7 Q& W, m9 |Across the sky flashed scenes from my life.
" E) W$ `, M! i4 u6 Z( t$ G/ eFor each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
- f3 c% p4 b' \+ X5 Rone belonging to me
+ X7 }; [9 E+ ~: w$ N$ H7 Pand the other to my Lord.
# f, P) y$ a, l; bWhen the last scene of my life shot before me
. p0 T$ W; }. mI looked back at the footprints in the sand.  a; g# E# l, [# {" c0 E( ?0 T$ q
There was only on set of footprints.
, ?+ K5 |/ k/ o0 kI realized that this was at the lowest
6 O9 c9 J9 [, g# Aand saddest times in my life.; o; Z* z  q! q1 j; \
This always bothered me
) I- C) i, h% s  W( w. u: uand I questioned the Lord" A0 |9 C- b  `1 t2 Y& h
about my dilemma.
5 i/ ^+ d* F5 O  o& n2 D& t"Lord, you told me when I decided to follow You,, E2 |* D( x  g! r9 ]2 k
You would walk and talk with me all the way.: s4 W; w1 w: V
But I'm aware that during the most troublesome
  ?, w# f1 V; C% l9 x( `# ptimes of my life there is only one set of footprints./ n9 Z0 ]+ O/ i
I don't understand why, when I needed You most,
( Z% |8 L  B8 _5 \you leave me."
. ]9 y6 Q$ z, B5 R/ M  QHe whispered,  "My precious, precious child,2 J8 l) x; z* o* P  W6 m
I love you and will never leave you
