One night I had a dream: }( s. N0 j" }$ K
I was walking along the beach with my Lord.1 J$ I) {" L; a' U( _1 V
Across the sky flashed scenes from my life.
. }8 s% {6 q- X% ^For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
& t; `  x: w0 B$ F" X, \one belonging to me8 F  q  F$ J+ ^' g3 [/ J! f/ U7 I4 Y, O
and the other to my Lord.3 R: O5 Z" L! S: r; I. ~2 ~
When the last scene of my life shot before me
# S% {! a4 q- p2 a% eI looked back at the footprints in the sand.7 e5 O4 p# K3 E" M) M
There was only on set of footprints.
4 G! ^8 B" G. \* V7 y+ HI realized that this was at the lowest
" y5 @, y/ R) `, |and saddest times in my life.- C- G( j* k8 d
This always bothered me ; G" t( X! {# F
and I questioned the Lord
6 D- R5 @: t! I5 [, ?) p+ p  Jabout my dilemma.
+ I2 _7 O+ ]& ^- v& q$ x1 o"Lord, you told me when I decided to follow You,
0 t4 z* D! \  M, B* ?You would walk and talk with me all the way.$ D  ~; Q6 Z+ k5 e8 l6 X
But I'm aware that during the most troublesome
, p6 p/ m* ^) I& f/ o) h1 gtimes of my life there is only one set of footprints.+ n5 z+ j- d" C$ k# y; O
I don't understand why, when I needed You most, 1 Z4 D1 H4 z( W# e2 Y* R
you leave me."
: f/ w) e% L) p; u, \) x$ RHe whispered,  "My precious, precious child,
' {4 H' `9 y7 s4 t( W" fI love you and will never leave you
5 p2 `  y1 i1 y' y- y! ^never, ever during your times of trial and testings.
* O5 G" `& Q# I4 R. w5 x/ [When you saw only one set of footprints4 l" L4 \! r# R$ n  q: L$ O
It was then that I carried you."
