Lord,
8 P) m0 r7 e$ ~1 P1 B# hhaving transformed
3 l$ F3 ~: |# o1 g7 w9 {4 hsunshine and soil and water and seed,3 L U, e) L3 a+ l
into food upon which we are soon to feed,
0 T& A: j" L4 [' q) Swe thank you for life and we want to stay well,
4 R# k9 L; ^7 l2 h3 M Uso we promise to rub our hands with Purell.
5 m, d* _: k( I7 rWe who came first and are ready to dine
. A* v& K6 [1 g sthank you that we’re not still waiting in line,
# ~- |1 {% Q0 B" X) pbut for those who are hungry and eagerly wait,
/ t* Z9 h% Z+ bwe shall not be greedy and heap up our plate.
0 D& C$ \! f6 \ y2 L S; KInstead we’ll be thoughtful of all the others " {3 M, J) B8 B/ C6 C
the way we were taught by our own loving mothers.

We smell the potatoes all spicy and roasted v- Y1 v% o) E
the aroma of casseroles perfectly toasted
