having transformed
8 V# R, e2 V2 D! i: j! Q" a0 Zsunshine and soil and water and seed,
' l2 n5 u% r" w$ o t( xinto food upon which we are soon to feed, 4 g$ F% {0 u: n+ K
we thank you for life and we want to stay well,
, d, y5 [7 J' \4 e$ I3 u0 T O: r( Nso we promise to rub our hands with Purell.. I k0 A$ R/ I- m6 J
We who came first and are ready to dine$ i) f/ p; ?' o4 B0 Y7 b- q1 r
thank you that we’re not still waiting in line,
7 M& E. Y/ ]# x9 y& V: lbut for those who are hungry and eagerly wait,
% ^8 w z, l6 T; q B- kwe shall not be greedy and heap up our plate.
8 i' Q1 `* _4 PInstead we’ll be thoughtful of all the others 9 o; l0 R; p! r6 B3 z
the way we were taught by our own loving mothers.

We smell the potatoes all spicy and roasted # E9 g- x" o7 H# l( c
the aroma of casseroles perfectly toasted
