Lord, 2 \ Q* g3 r9 P. E5 o
having transformed6 x8 L" q3 p4 ^, w1 @& w
sunshine and soil and water and seed,
* s5 Z. i& Q9 `into food upon which we are soon to feed, $ e: h8 _* @7 N" K H; b& P
we thank you for life and we want to stay well,
! H% T8 s w3 u5 {7 Mso we promise to rub our hands with Purell.! P' S% M6 E3 j, }% I; z9 Y8 O1 k
We who came first and are ready to dine1 O& B6 `6 e) F$ B
thank you that we’re not still waiting in line, ! `0 z3 w8 d# ?7 c$ r; q5 b
but for those who are hungry and eagerly wait,
1 L6 f0 B6 X/ P- W" P% Qwe shall not be greedy and heap up our plate.
, a# g r4 w& W9 s! TInstead we’ll be thoughtful of all the others
; X" c. e# P) c) sthe way we were taught by our own loving mothers. Y/ C" |- S! k) G; O+ I I6 g

We smell the potatoes all spicy and roasted 3 r% {) ]. z( c1 G2 ~& T) U
the aroma of casseroles perfectly toasted + x4 X0 g# ]' C
We thank you for people so generous and kind/ r F0 @/ e! ]" R8 s/ J
